Japanese Restaurant Association of America (JRA) announced that it will host the 16th annual Japanese Food Festival at Double Tree by Hilton Los Angeles, Little Tokyo.

Join us for a day of fun, food, beer, sake, and Japanese culture. This event is going to be exciting and delicious. There will be taiko drum performances, plenty of tasting, a sushi eating contest, a tuna cutting demo and much more!

Event Description
The participants will discover new tastes of genuine Japanese foods in endless array of Japanese foods and drinks including sushi, sashimi, soba, takoyaki, yakitori, tempura, beer, sake, shochu, green tea, and much more. JRA also announced that it will sell Japanese original/imported seasonings and condiments at the site for the first time. Japanese Food and Culture Association (JFCA), co-organizer, will host its tasting pavilion for new Japanese ingredients and sake produced by manufactures from Kouchi, Fukusima and Ibaragi prefectures in Japan who are seeking to market their products in California.

Exhibitors will be demonstrating and presenting their finest products and assisting you to enjoy Japanese foods and cultures. Moreover, the event will include a whole tuna filleting show. Six-foot-long giant tuna will be cutting into fillets in front of the audience, which only highly trained sushi chefs can perform. Sushi eating contest and live Japanese music and dancing will be also included. Especially, as a special event, hip-hop and traditional dance combined "Yosakoi Dance" will be performed.

"We are very pleased that Japanese cuisine has been added to 2013 UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Southern California is the center for Japanese restaurants and there are 2,500 Japanese restaurants located here. Our organization will continue to promote to increase the awareness of Japanese food in the United States", said Isao Hatano, President of JRA.
