Berkeley Buddhist Temple & Berkeley Higashi Buddhist Temple Obon is an annual event to commemorate our ancestors. Traditionally, lanterns are hung in front of houses to guide the ancestors' spirits, obon dances (Bon Odori) are performed, and food offerings are made at house altars and temples.

Everyone is invited to participate.

Each year, Berkeley Buddhist Temple & Berkeley Higashi Temple have one event thet includes both organizations together for the Bon Odori dance - observed as part of the Buddhist memorial observance. There are no food booths. It is open to the public.
