Centenary's Arigato Bazaar is just around the corner & we are hopeful that everyone will support this year's annual bazaar by attending on Saturday May 2nd from 10am to 6pm and the Bazaar After Party from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The success of the bazaar depends on "extended" family & friends sharing in the festival atmosphere we create at the Arigato Bazaar so please extend our invitation to others. Some attend the bazaar as a homecoming, some as a community gathering & some for the cultural experience. All come for the fun, delicious food, extraordinary activities & the great entertainment. Entertainment for children will feature a FREE craft tent as well as FREE interactive games for all ages with prizes through out the day. We will also have a FREE bouncer with dual slides to keep kids of all ages busy and entertained. For adults we will have a PREMIER Silent Auction with items that will suit everyone's tastes & pocket books. Growing in popularity & attendance this is the 4th year we will incorporate public ODORI/ONDO dancing into the bazaar. At 4pm Saturday May 2nd (just after our traditional Taiko Drum performance) come witness the spirit & culture of the community coming together to share in fun & fellowship. Spread the word, "public festival ODORI/ONDO dancing will start at 4pm under our 15 foot YAGURA towering over the dance circle on Saturday May 2nd. Just as last year's bazaar a "Early Bird" Opportunity Drawing with a $500.00 cash prize will take place. Tickets for this drawing must be turned in by 10:00 a.m. on the morning of May 2nd in order to be eligible. Raffle prizes will be given out throughout the day and we will conclude the bazaar with the "Grand Prize" Opportunity Drawing, a $1,000 cash prize (6:00 pm.) If you have family or friends who may be interested in purchasing tickets or if you need additional tickets for yourself please contact the church office at (213) 617-9097 or email to [email protected]. See everyone on Saturday May 2nd in Little Tokyo (Centenary UMC located at 300 S. Central Ave. 90013), attend in the spirit of culture & community while enjoying the fun & fellowship at Centenary's Arigato Bazaar and the Bazaar After Party. We extend our personal "Arigato" in advance for your important support, and look forward to seeing you! Arigato!

Date
Saturday May 2nd

Schedule
10:00 am to 6:00 pm in Little Tokyo along with a "Bazaar After Party" scheduled from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

What's New for 2015
This year's bazaar is being planned and organized by a twenty something year old Yonsei (4th generation and life long Centenary member), the first of this generation to chair Centenary's annual bazaar.

From 10 am to Mid-Afternoon
The "traditional" bazaar crowd will enjoy the festival atmosphere that the annual Centenary Arigato Bazaar is know for. The usual wide variety of delicious foods, great entertainment and fun activities throughout the day. The Centenary Arigato Bazaar prides its self in creating the ultimate festival where Culture, Community, Fellowship and Fun are guaranteed.

Towards the Later Part of the Bazaar - 4:00 pm
A "public ondo" incorporated into the its event schedule. This is Centenary's 4th year incorporating a public ondo into the bazaar and Centenary's 10th public ondo event. People from all over the greater Los Angeles area come to Centenary for the public ondo. Centenary can not express in words the appreciation they have for their Buddhist brothers and sisters that annually come to the Arigato Bazaar. Some call the Centenary Bazaar the "warm up" to the Obon and summer dance season. Centenary is the only Christian church to have an organized ondo dance group that travels from Obon to Obon during the summer. Centenary Obon Hoppers look forward to the 2015 Obon and summer dance season and wish that more would join them in this act of brotherhood/sisterhood and solidarity in supporting culture and community. If you have not experienced the spirit of culture and community that Bon Odori / Ondo dancing has to offer, don't miss Centenary's public ondo and ready yourself for the 2015 Obon and summer dance season.

The Arigato Bazaar will end at 6:00 pm as usual.

From 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A totally different and unique crowd will occupy the space from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Planned from 6:00 pm on will be the biggest (and possibly the loudest) live rock concert in Little Tokyo history. Scheduled to headline and perform live, community favorite epic rock band Lolita Dark featuring Shibuya-born singer/songwriter Rayko. With roots in Japan and Southern California Lolita Dark has been wowing crowds since 2011 and producing albums since 2012. The Lolita Dark song "Wounded Angel" was the official song for Anime California 2014. For more information in regards to the band go to www.loitadark.com or facebook.com/lolitadarkmusic. Along with Lolita Dark many other local bands will perform live.

A "Anime/Cosplay" costume contest and probably the "coolest" and "wildest" public ondo is also scheduled to take place.

The after party will have food, games, contests and a lot of fun All are welcome to attend this event including the young at heart Nisei and Sansei but be warned this will be like no festival or event ever to take place in Little Tokyo. It will be full of spirit, culture and community with a triple dose of energy. And it will be LOUD.
