On March 7th at 7PM, the Okinawa Association of America (OAA) will present a one-night-only performance by a special guest musician from Okinawa! Takane Kochihira was born in the Shuri district of Naha City, Okinawa, with ancestral roots in Miyako Island. He learned how to play sanshin (a traditional Okinawan instrument) as a child and, like a growing number of young musicians in Okinawa, has since created original music mixing his roots with modern folk and pop music. In addition to popular Okinawan songs and his original material, Kochihira usually performs his latest hit "Okinawa Dance Marathon," a fun anthem complete with a dance choreography that Kochihira teaches his audiences!

Admission is free for current OAA members and $7 for non-members. Due to limited parking and seating, RSVP IS REQUIRED to attend this performance. Please contact the OAA at 310-532-1929 or [email protected] to reserve your seat. The OAA is located at 16500 S. Western Ave., Gardena 90247.

PLEASE NOTE: The reservation email has been updated, so if you previously sent an RSVP to a different email please resend it to [email protected]. We apologize for the inconvenience!
