The 2.38-mile circuit has 17 flowing turns and features 80 feet of elevation change that challenge drivers and engineers. A 45-foot-wide racing ribbon also makes it imperative for patient overtaking opportunities.

Barber Motorsports Park opened in 2003 with the first public event a Grand-Am Sports Car Series race.

Fun fact
Vulcan, the mythical god of metalworking, is the largest iron statue in the world and is second in size only to the Statue of Liberty. The statue was Birmingham's entry in the 1904 World's Fair, where it won first place.
